About Us

This magazine was created and edited by Georgia C. '28, Zoe M. '28, and Tamara Salkin

In Spring 2026, Tamara came up with the idea for a student literary magazine. This seemingly small idea was actually an incredible opportunity for students from all artistic backgrounds (who maybe otherwise wouldn’t) to express themselves in a safe space. The magazine was conceptualized, proposed to Ross School administration, accepted submissions, and formatted the submissions onto an organized website in just over a month. We wanted to create a place where students could share their creativity without the fear of judgement. We wanted students passionate about all different types of art to come together and create an anthology to be seen by their community. In a world of chaos, the arts unite, inspire, and make people think and feel. We hope this does that for you.

Submissions may include visual art pieces, photography, film, critical essays, analytical essays, poetry, screenwriting, creative writing pieces, dramatic writing, plays, monologues, music, musical performances, theatrical performances, etc. Students are able to submit as many times as they want and may submit anonymously. We don’t believe in “cuts” at the Ross Upper School Mixed Media Arts Magazine, ergo all submitted pieces are included in the magazine’s final edit.

Feel free to reach out to us for any inquiries about the magazine or edit requests for your submission(s).
